For sale is an antique set of 6 French solid .950 sterling silver dinner forks
made in the early 19th Century during the period 1833 to1838.  These forks are
French first standard .950 sterling silver.  The forks are done in the classic
Fiddle Thread pattern.  Their dimensions are 8-1/4" long (slightly less given
wear on the tines as shown in the photos); combined total weight 412 grams
of .950 sterling silver.  We can narrow the date these forks were made by the
stamped punches in use in France from 1819 to 1838.  One mark is for
the1st silver standard 0.950; a second mark is the large silver assay
mark, both for Paris.  The third mark in the middle is the maker's mark for
J.B. Landry, Paris.  Jean-Baptiste-Denis-Landry (a silver flatware specialist)
had this mark (J B LANDRY + a man's foot) registered in 1833.
This set of 6 forks are in very good overall condition with wear commensurate
for their age.  The reverse handles are monogrammed. (CF).
