    Description

Antique French 950 Sterling Silver Gold Fiddle Thread Crown Crest Spoons in Box
Presented is an incredible quality set of 12 antique, French silver teaspoons made by Henri-Louis Chenailler of Paris during the mid 19th century. The spoons were most likely made around the 1860s and they come in their original, leather-bound, fitted box. The spoons are done in the Fiddle Thread pattern and each one has a deep gold wash. The back of each handle has a very finely engraved crest of a shield bearing a rampant lion underneath a crown, which indicates royalty.
This set is French 1st Standard Silver, which is 950 purity and therefore higher silver purity than 925 sterling.
Each spoon is marked for Henri-Louis Chentailler and bears the Minerva head mark for 950 purity silver.
This set is in excellent overall condition for its age. One spoon has a small ding to its bowl.
    Length: 5 7/8 inches.
Total silver weight: 321 grams or 11.3 ounces.
