    Description

    Antique French Reticulated Gilt Silver & Cut Glass Centerpiece late 19th Century
    of oval form, antique French 900 pierced gilt silver & cut glass centerpiece, the silver frame ornamented with two large plain design oval emblems surrounded with Fraxinus family of olive tree leaves branches with olives, scrolling garlands, criss-cross ribbons & dropped-down tussles design. Basket attached with wide semi-round handle. The centerpiece stands upon four scrolling motif feet. The glass lines is original, with deep diamond & spreading fan like wheel-cut design. Overall good condition, cracked & repaired glass liner, repair holds the glass lines intact, secure & evenly, visible glass chips to teeth edges, bottom & internal glass scratches. No silver frame damage, visible some scratches, light marks.

    Marked: indistinctive French maker's mark with-in a diamond, numbered, centerpiece tested with 18k acid, gave creamy white reaction for 900 silver content.
