Gorgeous antique French Louis XVIII to Louis Philippe era vermeil or 18k gold on sterling silver 12pc teaspoon set with sugar tongs and fitted storage and/or presentation box! A beautiful set, this consists of twelve 5 7/8" teaspoons and a near matching 6 5/8" sugar tongs with lions paw pincers. The spoons all bear the French Michelange or Michelangelo hallmark that dates them between 1819-1838. Silversmith marks are there but too small for us to accurately reference. The tongs are not original to the spoons and have the post 1838 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark. The silversmith mark on them appears to read "NV". The box is original to the spoons, an early 1800s piece in tooled burgundy leather and is in fine shape. A stunning set and one that you'll love to get out, use and impress with at every occasion.
Very good-excellent condition. Some signs of age in the box but it is in truly superb condition when age is considered. The box actually is fitted to hold eighteen spoons, the twelve remaining and the sugar tongs complete the set. Some slight signs of vermeil wear to the spoons but all are, as you can see in the images, in superb condition. See pictures for weights and measurements.

Insurance has been eliminated as an option by ebay, forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. We always insure our items BUT, more importantly, pack them extremely well knowing that most are not replacable. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is recieved (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat .00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.

8.75% sales tax applicable as of April 1st, 2009 for shipments & sales within the state of California, no exceptions. If you are within CA and are a dealer buying for resale, you must provide us your active resale certificate # and acknowledgment of intent to resell or we will have to collect sales tax.
