Offered for your consideration is a beautiful antique sterling silver medallion. The medal is signed Andrieu B., who was a French engraver of medals who was born in 1761 and died in 1822. The French government commissioned him to produce artwork of importance. This medallion features the bust of Marie Louise, second wife of Napoleon. The words MARIE LOUISE and IMPERATRICE. flank either side of the bust. The bottom of the bust is signed Andrieu B. The back is marked STERLING. The medal measures 4 inches in diameter and weighs 176 grams. This is a rare and important sterling silver piece representing French history.
