French Sterling / 950 Silver Hinged Pill / Trinket Box 19th Cen. Cherub On Bird

For your consideration is a fine French sterling or 950 silver Pill Box made circa 19th Century. Tremendous detailing on this piece, obviously made by a top flight silversmith. Very charming central scene of a Cherub riding a bird (a sparrow I think). Neat bell flowers, ribbons, and wreaths encircle the base. This Box is in good, age appropriate condition- a few base dings (see photo #10), one tiny ding on side. Decorations are very crisp. This box has not been monogrammed. Numerous French Hallmarks, most too small to make out (see photo #11,12) one appears to be “ER” with a figure between the letters. Weight: 34 Grams. Diameter: 1 7/8 Inches. Height: 1/2 of a Inch.
