    Description

I bought this lovely spoon over 10 years ago, when I thought I would assemble a set of coffee spoons. I actually bought it because the seller in France had found it in deplorable condition, the bowl dinged badly. I took it to Lawrence Miller in Old Town, who restored the shape. That said the bowl and edge are thin, from centuries of use, but in its restored state should provide many years of use, provided there are no more revolutions or world wars.
    It measures 5" in length.
The marks are sort of blurred from either fabrication or a later cleaning or polishing.
The maker's mark is present, though indecipherable. But I do make out one of the "points de remède" of the silversmith's hallmark's traditional emblems of pre-Revolutionary France.
Also, I believe I recognize the bottom of one of the P's, date letters for Paris from the late 1780s.
Finally, I see the small décharge mark is present, though indecipherable. I cannot make out a charge mark, but again, must have been worn away in finishing or polishing or some later repair.
Lovely piece to add to a collection of pre-Revolutionary French silver.
