100% Authentic Christofle, bears & Cardeilhac hallmarks:
Blade (front): CARDEILHAC FRANCE
Top of the handle (front): French "Minerva" head
Top of the handle (back): Christofle’s bumble bee & stars and Cardeilhac maker’s mark

Item Description:
French Silver-maker Christofle is an enduring symbol of luxury, elegance and prestige in the art of silver. Cardeilhac was bought by Christofle in 1951 and become part of the Christofle brand.
This item belongs to the discontinued and extremely hard to find Christofle / Cardeilhac “Joubert” sterling silver collection. Founded in Paris in 1804, Cardeilhac steadily gained one of the top silversmith positions in Europe between the years 1829 and 1920. Cardeilhac was the silversmith to Napoleon III and other prominent French. Cardeilhac is known for crafting some of the world's magnificent pieces of art in sterling silver and gold, decorated with rich Renaissance patterns of engraving and textures. Ivory, wood and different patinas are sometimes integrated into the work. Cardeilhac crafts its silver in higher purity than sterling 925; most of Cardeilhac silver is 950 purity.
