A torch is needed for this solder to work. Clean all surfaces, and the solder, to be used. Use flux that is used for gold and silver with this solder. Make sure of a tight fit where the join is to be, along with clean metal, before applying flux, solder and a flame to the metal. Pickle as you would with silver or gold. Look under "Use" below for further instructions.
This solder is for yellow brass projects. It is not as yellow as 14k gold, so I don't advise using it for soldering gold. It is yellow, so I don't advise using it for silver soldering either. I do sell two forms of silver solder in my store for silver soldering.
This is a 20 gauge (.031") wire solder. It is an improvement over regular brass/copper solder in color.
It provides an improved color match for your yellow brass designs. This 20-gauge wire solder contains approximately 38% silver. No brass/copper solder is going to be a perfect match, but if used as directed below, this is a step forward.
Use:
In order to get the best color match
, solder using the least amount possible. Pickle as usual. Lightly sand the seam then reheat, pickle and lightly sand, minimally repeating the process until you have the desired color match. What this process does is draws the brass/copper to the surface. So as long as sanding is minimal, the brass/copper content on the surface of the seam will cover the silver color that is usual for brass/copper solder.
Shipping:
Orders mailed the very next business day after payment. This excluded weekends and USA holidays. International: Shipping charges will be calculated according to weight.
If you would like insurance or signature services on your order, please contact me before paying so I can send an updated invoice including those services.
